The Honda Element Is The Most Dog-Friendly Car Around
The Honda Element is perfect for individuals who are active and participate in a lot of outdoors activities since the urethane floor is rugged and easy to wash if you get sand or mud on it. Fuel economy stands at 20 mpg in the city and 25 mpg for the front-wheel-drive model. The Element weighs in at approximately 3,500 lbs which is a bit hefty and towing capacity for this vehicle is up to 1500 lbs. The ride is towards the firm side and handling is agile. It isn’t exactly the fastest SUV around town but the engine is responsive and power is more than ample for every day driving.
One unique aspect about the Element that sets it apart from the rest is its Dog-Friendly-Package. This includes a rear kennel, a doggie bed, a drinking bowl, stowable ramp, dog patterned seat covers, and a cooling fan. Now you can easily take Fido along on any outdoors activities such as camping, hiking etc. Three trim levels that are available are the LX, EX and SC. The EX trims includes satellite radio, sixteen inch alloy wheels, audio controls on the steering wheel and vanity mirrors. An optional navigation system and a USB interface can also be added at an additional cost.
The cabin is very utilitarian and built to be useful, functional and practical. Seats are comfortable with sufficient space to seat four individuals. The cargo space is very impressove with seventy five cubic feet available (with the rear seats removed) in order to store all your belongings. The versatile cargo design allows users to fold or even remove the rear seats for extra storage solutions.
Safety was thoroughly addressed by Honda with the installation of an air bag system and side-impact door beams. Vehicle Stability Assist aids to maintain stability during oversteer or understeer situations. The Anti Lock Brake System allows for better control during abrupt braking. The Element was awarded the Top Safety Pick for 2010 by the IIHS.
The Element is suitable for someone with an active lifestyle or a pet due to the fact that if offers so much storage capacity and is so easy to clean. If you go to the beach often or go camping it will be fairly easy to remove sand, dirt and debris. The base price for the Element is around $20k and may vary depending on the trim and options chosen.
