Navy Seals An Elite Fighting Force
The Navy Seals are an elite maritime fighting force that began in 1962. President John F. Kennedy established this new fighting force to carry out clandestine operations wherever needed all over the world. The training that switches into the making of a Navy Seal is intense to say the least. These men train for 30 months of basic physical conditioning, land warfare, Scuba training and most important working as a team. Being a team is a very important section of their training due to small size of the strike force that may be usually involved in large scale operations.
Though becoming a Navy Seal is with a voluntary basis only, there are specific conditions required to be excepted for training. To volunteer you must be a male age 28 or younger, women aren’t allowed to volunteer by yet, and already inside Navy. #2 You have to have excellent vision. #3 Pass the Military Vocational Aptitude Battery that happen to be a series of tests that determines ones academic abilities and predicts the success in the wide variety of occupations.
As much as the physical requirements would have to be excepted for training, you must swim 500 yards in 12.5 minutes or less accompanied by a 10 minute rest. Then do 42 push-ups under 2 minutes as well as a 2 minute rest. Next are 50 sit ups in under 2 minutes which has a 2 minute rest then 6 pull-ups with a 10 minute rest. As soon as the 10 minute rest there is a 1.5 mile run in combat boots and long pants that really must be completed in 11.5 minutes or less. After completing the essential requirements along with the physical endurance tests only then are you currently excepted to begin training to become a Navy Seal.
Only 58% graduate training school in the number who volunteer for that Navy Seals to people who successfully complete the entry requirements. This special force requires a great soldier who is strong in both body and mind, an individual who is not really a leader but a team player who can follow instructions.
