Imitation pearls resemble cultured or natural pearls, but hold a different chemical structure.Their physical properties are also different.Imitation pearls must be marketed as “faux”, “artificial,” “man-made,” or “simulated”.Regional names may also be used, such as “Mallorca pearls” or “Red Sea Pearls”.
