Pro Pin
What is the small metal tube that I see after taking out the disassembly pin on my Taurus 24/7 Pro.?

I recently purchased a Taurus 24/7 Pro it is my first pistol and i was following the instructions to take it apart. After I got it fully disassembled I descided to put it back together again to i put the slide back onto the gun and went to insert the disassembly pin and there is a small metal looking tube blocking the entry of the pin that I had to push down to get the pin to go back in. Does anyone have any idea what im talking about . Im sure that its meant to be that way as I got it back togehter and cycled the slide many times.

That ‘tube’ is part of a spring. Just push it out of the way with the retaining pin. That spring is the reason why the pin has a half-moon cutout at the end of it. Just put the pin in the hole and twist, and that will shove the spring out of the way.
