Do month old kittens still need stimulation to potty?
I just took in the kitten because it was the runt, and seemed to not be getting enough milk from it’s mother.
She seems healthy but I am not sure if she’ll just go potty on her own. I have a few cats, but I’ve never raised them from such a young age. Will I need to rub her backside to get her to go, or will she do this task on her own?
Also, It’s alright to just put her kitten formula in a bowl as I introduce kitten food, right? I fed her from a bottle and she ended up chewing the end of the nib off with her sharp little teeth.
I feel pretty stupid asking this, but I’d rather know now than find out by her getting sick or something. :<
Any tips are appreciated. 8D
Kittens and puppys should not be taken from thier mothers before they are 5 weeks old, even if you think the runt needs help. To do so will cause behavior problems, but at a month old it shouldn’t have to have it’s butt rubbed to make it use the litter box.
You can call a local Vet’s office to personally find out, and other than this don’t take any advise from people on the internet. Ask a doctor.
