Is it possible there could have been some political (Nascar) motivation behind Dale Jr gong to HMS?
…All the memorabilia sales, ticket sales, ratings, and the two major fan rivals (Jeff and Jr) being in the same equipment makes for more intense racing. Think Nascar might have had some influence in getting Jr to go to Hendricks?

I hate to say it, but NASCAR has changed so drastically and become so money hungry. While I can’t for certainty it was a real legitiment factor…I still wouldn’t put it past them.
