chances of getting into rutgers new brunswick?
im am an upcoming hispanic senior from a very competitive new jersey high school. I plan on majoring in history at school of arts and sciences my highschool stats are
3.2 unweighted gpa
3.85 weighted (out of 5.3, but maximum able to achieve statistically is 4.8ish)
580 math
590 critical reading
1170/1740 (only taken once)
jv baseball freshman year, a few clubs, however very involved outside of school
creator of a mens inline hockey team, played 20 season of roller hockey in local town league, volunteered for many years (coach, referee, etc.), also very involved at local little league.
HOWEVER, with grades. they did not calculate in my freshman year grades from my florida school. i took all honors classes at the #3 ranked school in the country, suncoast highschool. calculating all of those grades in i should have around a 4.15 weighted but they dont calculate them in.
chance me for admission and financial aid? my efc is around 30k
Normally, a 3.2 GPA would keep you out of any State University flagship campuses like Rutgers-NB.
However, you’re Hispanic, which helps a lot, and Rutgers apparently takes students with amazingly low GPAs on the theory they’ll probably fail and not take up room in the school very long.
