Why can’t a star be foreced to go supernova and then link to a black hole?

I’m not sure what kind of project would require you to use science fiction as a source.
As wonderful as SG-1 is, the whole show hinges on a piece of technology that may not even be possible, the stargate.
Why can’t a star be foreced to go supernova and then link to a black hole?
That isn’t what they did in the episode. They linked to the black hole first, allowing the black hole to draw mass quickly away from the start through the stargate. This breaks the equilibrium that Eta Carinae described causing the supernova. There are a host of problems with this, including but not limited to:
1. Stargate doesn’t exist.
2. Interstellar travel doesn’t exist.
3. Stargate in show is designed such that it is one way, and can differentiate between ambient pressure and active attempts to pass through the event horizon. When the gate is launched into the star, the pressure from the star would be detected as ambient, and no mass from the star would pass through the gate.
4. If the black hole on the receiving end hasn’t already pulled the planet into its event horizon, why would it draw the plasma from the star any faster? Gravity is based on mass and distance.
5. What’s to guarantee that the star will go supernova? Since, per the show, a black hole can keep a stargate open indefinitely, and energy can pass through the gate, what is to keep the black hole from simply continuing to draw mass away from the star, retarding nuclear processes rather than causing an explosion?
