Wacom Nib Wear, never fixed?
Hi, i was shortly from buying a Wacom Intuos4 Large… But then i noticed some concerns…
People unhappy of extremly fast nib wear…
And then i noticed something again that Wacom has not fixed this problem since early 2009?!?!
Whats this, Intuos4 is crap then?
I dont wanna trust on somthing that will cost me more then using real papper and real pencils!
Can some one back me up on this question?
Is it safe to buy it now, is it been fixed or is it like, been a problem since 1 year ago?
Nib wear is normal for all kinds and brands of graphics tablets, including Wacom Intuos4. What I do is I tape a sheet of clear glossy acetate onto the tablet surface and replace it when it gets worn. That protects the original writing surface.
I also spray the acetate surface with a small amount of silicone spray, which is very slick and slippery. It makes the pen nib glide very easily over the surface and greatly reduces nib wear. Doing these things has kept me from having to replace my pen nib.
