Which bowling ball should I get?
This season, I made the switch to a fingertip grip. I was using my ebonite tornado, which is made to “develop a hook”. I can get an okay amount, but this offseason, I want to get a new ball. My average is in the 140′s at the moment, but I’m getting more high games with fingertip. So my question is, what ball would you recommend? I’m almost 16 by the way.
An entry level bowling ball such as the Ebonite Tornado, Hammer Vibe, Brunswick Power Groove or Storm Tropical Storm will do for every skill level on dry to medium oiled lanes. If you want to “step up” your game (with bowling basics, of course…..) and use a performance bowling ball that will scatter pins more as well as hit the pocket more solidly, consider these bowling balls that I have in my “arsenal:
Brunswick Ultimate Inferno
Brunswick Maxx Zone
Brunswick Wild Ride
Brunswick Red Zone
Elite PBA Platinum
Elite PBA Cheetah
Elite PBA Chameleon
Hammer Black Widow Venom
MoRich Awesome Finish
My 16 year old son uses the two fingered style with the Brunswick Ultimate Inferno as his primary bowling ball and has a high revolution, 16-18 mph. delivery, while carrying a 202 average. I’m not saying that Brunswick is the only brand name out there, but I’ve used it for almost 27 years and it’s been very kind to me with success as an amateur and professional.
